Microsoft Purview Data Governance Engineer – GCC Advisory

About the role

PwC’s Cybersecurity practice is looking for a Microsoft Purview Data Governance Engineer to join the GCC Advisory team in Bengaluru. You will lead the enablement and ongoing management of Microsoft Purview across on‑premises and cloud data sources, ensuring comprehensive metadata capture, data lineage and compliance for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the deployment, configuration and administration of Microsoft Purview for enterprise data environments.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python and CLI to interact with Purview APIs for data source registration, scan configuration, rule‑set creation and scheduling.
• Create and manage Purview Domains, Collections and Data Catalogs to support metadata capture and lineage tracking.
• Perform manual and automated registration of data sources and execute test scans to validate metadata ingestion.
• Collaborate with client technical teams to design data governance frameworks and ensure alignment with security policies.

Required profile

• Strong background in data governance, data cataloguing or related cybersecurity domains.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data governance platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, CLI).
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
