Mechanical Planning Engineer – JMD PSD

About the role

This position is responsible for implementing maintenance processes and supporting the planning, scheduling and management of all planned and unplanned maintenance activities at the plant. The role ensures safe, efficient and timely execution of work while complying with quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate planning and scheduling of all maintenance jobs, optimizing manpower, material, services and pooled assets.
• Adjust plans to accommodate resource constraints, emergency jobs and unplanned work.
• Lead rolling weekly planning across plants and coordinate allocation of common resources.
• Prepare the REAM annual maintenance plan and budget, maintaining multi‑year plans with stakeholders.
• Monitor inventory levels of MRO items, manage spare parts stock and take corrective actions as needed.
• Implement and support turnaround/shutdown planning in line with company philosophy.
• Maintain current job lists in the CMMS for normal, opportunity and shutdown jobs.
• Support root‑cause analysis, incident investigations, audits and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Act as power‑user for SAP Equipment Master and Planned Maintenance modules, ensuring master data accuracy.
• Provide inputs to reliability groups on maintenance strategies and future capital expenditures.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in plant maintenance planning.
• Strong understanding of maintenance management processes and REAM/CoE frameworks.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and resource optimisation.

Required skills

• SAP Equipment Master and Planned Maintenance modules.
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) usage.
