Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Level III

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Level III is responsible for troubleshooting, assembling, installing, testing, maintaining and optimizing manufacturing equipment, automated machinery, robotic systems and mechanical assemblies. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, reliability and operational efficiency while supporting preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, assemble, troubleshoot, repair and maintain manufacturing equipment, automated machinery, robots and cobots.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic schematics and technical specifications to execute maintenance tasks accurately.
• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on gearboxes, bearings, shafts, ball screws, linear motion and drive systems.
• Carry out machine alignment, leveling, upgrades, retrofits and modifications to improve performance.
• Install, troubleshoot and optimise pneumatic systems including cylinders, valves, regulators, FRLs, sensors and tubing.
• Support installation, calibration, teaching and basic programming of industrial robots and collaborative robots (cobots) and their end‑of‑arm tooling.
• Conduct precision measurements (runout, flatness, parallelism, concentricity, alignment) and analyse results to recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, equipment history and preventive maintenance documentation.
• Participate in downtime analysis, root‑cause investigations, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Kaizen initiatives.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, ITI, Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and pneumatic schematics.
