Mechanical Engineer – Mumbai

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join Buro Happold’s Mumbai office. You will work on complex construction projects, delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions within a collaborative, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical engineering designs and technical schedules.
• Plan, produce and manage CAD documentation for design work.
• Monitor the performance of technicians and ensure project deliverables meet deadlines and budgets.
• Represent Buro Happold at client, supplier and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide regular updates to senior staff on design decisions and project progress.
• Mentor and support graduate engineers.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of experience in mechanical engineering within an MEP consultancy.
• Ability to take responsibility in a team‑based setting while working independently.
• Broad knowledge of building design across a variety of project types.
• Strong Excel skills, including the use of macros.
• Good understanding of electrical concepts and their impact on overall projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institute.
