Mechanical Design Engineer – Industrial Welding Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Specialist) to lead the design of an industrial welding controller. The role focuses on creating plastic and aluminium die‑cast components, assemblies and sub‑assemblies, ensuring they meet system requirements and integrate with electronics and software.

Key responsibilities

• Design and modify plastic and aluminium die‑cast parts and assemblies for the welding controller.
• Interpret system requirements, develop concepts and produce detailed designs that satisfy project specifications.
• Select standard mechanical elements and coordinate with electronics and software teams.
• Create manufacturing and assembly drawings in accordance with design standards.
• Perform thermal simulations and heat‑sink calculations to validate thermal performance.
• Manage component databases, generate Bills of Materials in SAP and maintain documentation.
• Conduct engineering calculations and produce technical documentation.

Required profile

• B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8–14 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in industrial equipment.
• Proven ability to work independently and deliver designs from concept to production.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools such as Creo and Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience using Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Thermal simulation and heat‑sink calculation expertise.
• Knowledge of SAP for BOM creation and database management.
• Strong engineering calculation and documentation skills.
