Managing Director – Controller & India Head, Stress Testing & Impairment

About the role

This senior position combines the responsibilities of a Stress Testing & Impairment (ST&I) Controller with the leadership of the India ST&I organisation. Reporting to the Global Head of ST&I and the Head of India Finance, you will oversee IFRS 9 impairment reporting, regulatory stress testing, and a team of roughly 200 professionals across multiple Indian locations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver IFRS 9 impairment reporting, Board Audit Committee materials, and external disclosures for the Group.
• Lead quarterly impairment governance, including the Group Impairment Committee and related forums.
• Oversee the impairment controls framework, SOX testing and external audit coordination (e.g., KPMG).
• Execute end‑to‑end internal and regulatory stress tests, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
• Maintain the control environment for stress‑testing processes, covering RCSA, issue management, BIA coordination, and BCBS data‑governance compliance.
• Identify gaps, drive remediation and continuous improvement across ST&I processes.
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the India ST&I organisation, driving technology and process transformation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in IFRS 9 impairment reporting and governance.
• Strong background in regulatory and internal stress‑testing within a banking or financial services environment.
• Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams (200+ staff) across multiple locations.
• Experience interfacing with senior finance, risk, treasury and technology stakeholders.
• Demonstrated track record of managing control frameworks, SOX testing and external audit relationships.
