Manager Business Development

About the role

We are looking for an experienced professional with 10‑12 years in Aerospace & Defence to lead business development for our Defence and Space portfolio in India. The role bridges operational military needs with Airbus’s advanced aerospace solutions, driving growth and long‑term partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead market intelligence and future systems strategy, focusing on Uncrewed Aerial Systems and derivatives for the Indian Armed Forces.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, converting high‑level military requirements into capture plans and technical proposals.
• Serve as the primary interface between Airbus teams and senior external stakeholders to align technology offerings with national security needs.
• Support Key Account Managers in complex sales campaigns, providing the operational perspective for winning proposals.
• Manage Salesforce data for the Defence and Space portfolio, ensuring 100% data integrity for forecasting.
• Collaborate with global product teams to align product roadmaps with Make‑in‑India and indigenisation requirements.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of experience in aerospace, defence or space business development.
• Deep understanding of Indian defence procurement processes and regulations.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical solutions to senior military and civil leaders.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets) for collaborative strategy development.
• Advanced hands‑on experience with Salesforce for pipeline and opportunity management.
• Expert knowledge of the Defence Acquisition Policy (DAP) and Defence Procurement Manual (DPM).
• CRM expertise and ability to maintain high‑quality data.
