Logistics Officer – Humanitarian Aid (Group I)

About the role

The European Commission’s Directorate‑General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) is seeking a Logistics Officer (Group I) for its New Delhi office. The role supports the planning, coordination and execution of logistics activities that enable humanitarian relief operations worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement logistics functions to ensure the smooth operation of DG ECHO offices in the assigned region.
• Supervise day‑to‑day logistics processes, coordinate with field offices and provide crisis‑management support.
• Act as the focal point for logistics personnel, offering guidance, training and coaching as needed.
• Develop and improve logistics tools and procedures in collaboration with Regional Logistics Coordinators and Authorising Officers.
• Support procurement, supply and equipment provision for DG ECHO offices and, when required, for missions outside the region.
• Assist internal control and verification activities related to logistics.

Required profile

• Second‑level university degree in a relevant field (e.g., logistics, supply chain, procurement, or related).
• Relevant professional experience in logistics, preferably in humanitarian or crisis contexts.
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
• Strong communication and coordination skills across multicultural teams.
