Line Cook – Upscale Hotel, Resort or Cruise Ship

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team in an upscale hospitality environment such as a hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service. The successful candidate will work across all kitchen stations, delivering high‑quality dishes while adhering to strict food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all basic food items required for the menu as directed by the supervisor.
• Demonstrate advanced knife‑handling techniques and work efficiently in any kitchen section.
• Apply solid food knowledge and culinary terminology to execute recipes accurately.
• Read, understand, and follow company recipes, ensuring consistent product quality.
• Maintain productivity by completing tasks efficiently and meeting service timelines.
• Follow public health regulations (US, Anvisa, Shipsan, Canadian, Australian, etc.) and keep the work area ready for announced or unannounced inspections.
• Report for duty at assigned times, follow supervisor instructions, and uphold uniform, appearance, and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service.
• At least 2 years experience as a Line Cook; shipboard experience preferred.
• Culinary school degree required.
• Strong management abilities in a multicultural, dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, decision‑making and people skills.
• Proven customer‑service, team‑building and conflict‑resolution capabilities.
• Knowledge of personalized service principles, quality standards and guest‑satisfaction evaluation.
• Solid planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling and evaluating skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with computer software.
