Legal Counsel – Innovative Medicine (India)

About the role

Johnson & Johnson’s Innovative Medicine division in India is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal guidance and mentorship across its operations. Based in Mumbai, the role will serve as the primary legal partner for the business, ensuring compliance while supporting strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate, draft, and review a wide range of agreements, including supply, distribution, co‑marketing, licensing, clinical trial, donation, speaker engagement, employment and non‑disclosure contracts.
• Proactively assess legal and governance risks, develop policies, conduct trainings and communicate preventative measures.
• Coordinate with the global Intellectual Property team on trademark and patent matters for products commercialized in India and South Asia.
• Support business units on contractual, labor‑related and regulatory issues.
• Manage litigation matters, liaise with external counsel and oversee case strategy.
• Advise Marketing and Medical functions on product labeling, promotional activities and ethical compliance.
