Legal Counsel – Digital Lending & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to lead the legal, regulatory, and compliance function for our digital lending platform. The role focuses on ensuring that all loan products and operational processes adhere to the Reserve Bank of India’s Digital Lending Guidelines and NBFC regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and vet legal documents such as loan agreements, corporate guarantees, powers of attorney, vendor contracts, and master service agreements.
• Manage borrower disputes, respond to legal notices, and address regulatory complaints filed with the RBI.
• Maintain and update internal policies to stay aligned with evolving regulatory requirements.
• Provide legal advice on digital lending practices, recovery procedures, and overall regulatory compliance.
• Prepare regulatory responses, settlement communications, and internal policies including the Fair Practices Code.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.).
• Demonstrated experience with NBFC and fintech regulatory frameworks.
• Strong understanding of RBI Digital Lending Guidelines and related compliance obligations.
