Legal Advisor – Employment & Service Law

About the role

KL University is seeking an experienced Legal Advisor to join its Legal Team. The role focuses on all employment‑related legal matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws, university statutes, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on recruitment, appointments, promotions, transfers, and separations for academic and non‑academic staff.
• Handle disciplinary proceedings, draft show‑cause notices, charge sheets, and termination orders.
• Represent the university in employment‑related litigation before courts, tribunals, and labor authorities.
• Coordinate with external counsel, prepare case briefs, affidavits, and maintain litigation records.
• Ensure compliance with UGC, AICTE, state and central regulations; conduct legal audits and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.); LL.M. preferred.
• Enrollment with the Bar Council is desirable.
• 5–10 years of experience handling employment and service‑related legal matters.
• Prior experience in higher education, government organisations, or large corporates.
• Proven track record in labor law, disciplinary proceedings, and employment litigation.
