Lead Technical Trainer – EV Commercial Vehicles

About the role

Exponent Energy, which builds the energy stack for commercial EVs in India, is hiring a Lead Technical Trainer in Bengaluru. Working with the After Sales team, the trainer designs, develops and delivers technical and product training for the dealership network and internal teams, focusing on the EV segment for 3-wheelers and heavy commercial vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Train dealer technicians on EV architecture, high-voltage systems, powertrain, battery and chargers, and on diagnostics, troubleshooting and OEM diagnostic tools
• Educate teams on high-voltage safety protocols, PPE use and emergency response
• Train sales teams on product performance and features, and turn technical specs into value-based sales arguments such as Total Cost of Ownership
• Create, update and localize training modules, manuals, e-learning content and assessment tools, and design simulation-based learning and hands-on exercises
• Collaborate with R&D, product planning and engineering on upcoming launches and software updates
• Evaluate and certify dealer technicians and sales staff against OEM global standards, monitor training KPIs and run skill-gap analyses
• Provide on-site or remote technical support to dealerships facing complex, first-time EV issues

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Automobile, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering
• 3 to 6 years of experience as a Technical Trainer within an automobile OEM or Tier-1 supplier
• Minimum 2 years of dedicated experience in EV systems, preferably in the commercial vehicle segment (buses, trucks or LCVs)
• Quality of work, structured problem-solving, ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment and resilience
