KDB Developer - Surveillance Enhancement Program

About the role

DXC Luxoft is hiring a KDB developer in Chennai for the Surveillance Enhancement Program (SEP), a multi-year initiative to build and enhance a surveillance platform that detects potential market misconduct, market manipulation and market abuse. The project focuses on alert enhancements, strategic data sourcing from FM order and trade lakes, and UI and workflow improvements to meet regulatory obligations such as MAR, Dodd-Frank, MIFID and CAT, including control room and suitability monitoring data.

Key responsibilities

• Develop software using the Q/KDB backend and build the UI with the Delta Stream Dashboard builder.
• Analyse data and apply ML/AI-based libraries to solve problems in market abuse surveillance.
• Work closely with business analysts and trade surveillance users.
• Provide effort estimates to project managers based on requirements.
• Follow best practices and coding standards, and keep specification documentation updated and version-controlled in SharePoint.

Required profile

• 1 to 5 years of hands-on development experience.
• Degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good knowledge of release processes and control procedures.
• Experience working with geographically diverse teams globally.

Required skills

• Proficiency in JIRA for issue tracking (Scrum boards).
• Strong understanding of financial markets asset classes (FX, FI, equities, rates, commodities and credit) and trade types (OTC, exchange traded, spot, forward, swap, options) is a must.
• Knowledge of surveillance domain, regulations (MAR, MIFID, CAT, Dodd-Frank) and related systems is a plus.
• Prior experience with ML/AI libraries is a definite plus.
