Junior Sous Chef

About the role

The Hoxton Bengaluru City is opening its first neighbourhood hotel in Asia in the city centre, with 149 bedrooms, an all-day dining restaurant and bar, a rooftop pool and bar, function rooms and an events space. It is looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to join its team and support the kitchen leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef in leading a large, dynamic kitchen team.
• Help drive innovation and build a culture of menu development while keeping the Hoxton restaurant menu framework, letting the produce speak for itself.
• Maintain kitchen standards, finding efficient solutions while preserving the quality and integrity of the menu.
• In the absence of the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef, oversee the kitchen team.
• Lead by example, keeping the team involved, motivated and confident in delivering great guest experiences.

Required profile

• 2+ years' experience as a Junior Sous Chef in a busy environment, with freshness and provenance of ingredients as a key priority.
• Proven track record managing large kitchen teams.
• Ability to take ownership of important issues, solve problems and make effective decisions.
• Natural leader who leads by example and creates a supportive environment.
• Passion for hospitality and food, with a positive attitude and willingness to try things.
