Junior Information Security Team Member – System Engineer

About the role

Tata Communications is looking for a Junior Information Security Team Member to support its data‑center operations in Pune. The role focuses on virtualization, cloud‑based networking, and system administration across Linux and Windows environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and configure Linux and Microsoft server platforms.
• Manage virtualization technologies, primarily VMware and Nutanix HCI.
• Perform security patching, backups, and hardware health monitoring for Windows and Linux servers.
• Create and manage user accounts and access controls for virtual machines and related tools.
• Conduct diagnostic testing, debugging, and performance optimisation of computer systems.
• Maintain documentation, end‑user feedback mechanisms, and error‑reporting processes.
• Support large‑scale data‑center environments, including VMware vCenter, vSphere, SRM, and related cluster features (HA, DRS, SDRS, FT).
• Configure service profiles and templates on Cisco USC and Cisco AVE platforms.
• Apply ITIL best practices for build, provisioning, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.

Required profile

• IT graduate (BCA/MCA, BSc/MSc IT, BE/BTech) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining VMware environments.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities and familiarity with ITIL processes.
