Junior Application Support Analyst

About the role

This position provides dedicated application support for the Nielsen Brandbank IT Service, ensuring internal users can perform their duties while following departmental processes. It is primarily a junior role focused on team administration, reporting, and customer‑facing support, with the expectation to grow into a more technical position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Application Support team.
• Deliver professional technical support for proprietary and limited desktop applications, including assistance for teleworkers.
• Use the internal Jira ticketing system to resolve requests within SLA targets.
• Contribute to and maintain documentation for the support team.
• Respond to out‑of‑hours support requests (with TOIL compensation).
• Manage application configuration, perform problem analysis, and coordinate resolution with users and external suppliers.
• Perform system configuration, scripting tasks, and new‑user administration as needed.

Required profile

• Willingness to learn new IT skills and a genuine interest in technology.
• Analytical and methodical approach to information gathering and fault diagnosis.
• Good face‑to‑face customer service experience.
• Polite, cheerful attitude and a strong commitment to achieving business goals.

Required skills

• Jira ticketing tool.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL.
• Familiarity with XML.
• Familiarity with JSON.
• Basic use of Google Workspace applications.
