Java Backend Lead (Hybrid) – Vadodara

About the role

Capco is seeking a Java Backend Lead for its Vadodara location. The role is hybrid, working from the client office, and will drive the design and delivery of high‑performance backend services for banking and fintech clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, high‑performance backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Provide technical leadership, making architecture decisions and enforcing engineering best practices.
• Design and build robust REST APIs and distributed microservices for enterprise‑grade applications.
• Guide features from design through testing, deployment and production support.
• Mentor developers through technical discussions, design reviews and code reviews.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, maintainable and performance‑focused.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Mobile, QA, DevOps and other engineering teams.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, production issues and performance bottlenecks.

Required profile

• 10+ years of Java backend development experience, including leadership of technical teams or complex initiatives.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Java, Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Proven ability to drive technical design and architecture decisions for enterprise applications.
• Experience building scalable, reliable, enterprise‑grade services.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management and communication skills.
