Internal Auditor – Accounts Payable

About the role

The Internal Auditor in the Finance department focuses on the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and regulatory compliance of all related processes. You will lead audits, evaluate controls, and recommend improvements to mitigate risk and enhance efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits of accounts payable processes, reviewing invoices, purchase orders, and payment records for completeness and compliance.
• Assess and strengthen internal controls, identifying weaknesses and implementing corrective actions.
• Review the full invoice processing cycle to detect errors or fraudulent activity and ensure adherence to approval workflows.
• Maintain and verify vendor master data, ensuring vendor compliance with contractual terms.
• Audit employee expense reports for accuracy, policy adherence, and client billing integrity.
• Maintain organized documentation and proper record‑keeping of all accounts payable transactions.
• Collaborate with multi‑location AP teams to identify process‑improvement opportunities and drive automation.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to the AP team and senior management.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) with relevant experience.
• Specific experience auditing accounts payable processes.
• In‑depth knowledge of accounts payable principles, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
