Instructional Systems Designer – EHS Training

About the role

3M is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to create high‑quality, engaging learning solutions for the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) organization. You will partner with global sites and business units to design, deliver, and evaluate training at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with global sites and business units to improve learning experiences, increase engagement, close performance gaps, and meet learning objectives.
• Collaborate with internal subject‑matter experts to analyze training needs and support the full lifecycle of training solutions using instructional systems design principles.
• Develop, revise, and maintain training content grounded in adult learning theory, instructional design methodology, and knowledge‑retention best practices.
• Recommend appropriate instructional approaches and delivery methods based on audience, business requirements, and desired outcomes.
• Coach SMEs on adult learning principles, instructional design practices, and effective content delivery.
• Provide occasional backup support for EHS/PS learning content administration in 3M Learn or related learning systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of experience as an Instructional Designer, Learning Technologist, or a similar role with hands‑on responsibility across design, delivery, and reporting.
• Proven expertise in instructional systems design, adult learning theory, learner engagement, and knowledge‑retention strategies.
