Information Technology Assistant

About the role

The Information Technology Assistant provides first‑line technical support to keep the organisation’s IT environment running smoothly. You will be responsible for maintaining hardware, software and network infrastructure while delivering prompt assistance to employees.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level support for desktops, laptops, printers and other peripherals.
• Install, configure and maintain computer hardware, operating systems and business applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and Tally.
• Monitor and maintain servers, network switches, firewalls and Wi‑Fi infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking and connectivity issues.
• Manage user accounts, passwords, email accounts and access permissions.
• Perform regular system updates, data backups and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with external vendors for equipment servicing and software support.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation, ensuring compliance with IT policies and cybersecurity standards.
• Assist in the implementation of new IT systems and infrastructure projects.
• Respond quickly to support requests to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in IT support or a similar role.
• Practical experience with servers, network switches and firewall administration.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Tally and other business applications.
• Basic understanding of LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN configurations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays if required.
• Local candidates preferred.
