Industrial Relations Manager

About the role

The Industrial Relations Manager will act as the primary liaison between management, employees, and unions, fostering a constructive and harmonious workplace. This role is responsible for overseeing employee relations, labour litigation, disciplinary processes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant labour laws and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cordial industrial relations across the organization.
• Serve as the main interface with union representatives on employee and operational matters.
• Address employee grievances promptly and provide guidance to line managers.
• Draft and review legal submissions, represent the company in conciliation and court proceedings, and coordinate with external legal counsel.
• Manage disciplinary actions, including drafting notices, conducting inquiries, and maintaining documentation.
• Liaise with government authorities, labour departments, and external agencies on IR matters.
• Prepare MIS reports, track industrial disputes, and analyze trends to mitigate risks.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, labour laws, and safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Graduate with a PG Diploma in Personnel Management (or equivalent).
• Extensive experience in industrial/employee relations, labour law, and dispute resolution.
• Proven ability to manage complex litigation and disciplinary processes.
• Strong knowledge of applicable labour regulations, company policies, and standing orders.
