ICU Staff Nurse – Dehradun

About the role

The hospital is seeking a dedicated ICU Staff Nurse to join the intensive care team in Dehradun. You will work closely with intensivists and anesthetists to provide critical care to patients in the ICU/HDU. The role involves direct patient monitoring, emergency response, and coordination of care plans.

Key responsibilities

• Observe and assess patient vital signs, initiating appropriate interventions when needed.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Identify and address potential complications such as infections, bleeding, or respiratory issues early.
• Administer prescribed pain relief medication and manage patients' pain levels.
• Maintain strict hygiene and safety protocols to prevent infection transmission.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families during critical periods.
• Document all medical interventions, patient responses, and condition changes accurately.
• Manage inventory of medicines and consumables, ensuring adequate stock.
• Check and maintain biomedical equipment, including crash cart trolley readiness.
• Prepare stable patients for discharge from ICU and deliver discharge instructions.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and training programs.

Required profile

• Diploma or B.Sc. in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU/HDU settings.
• Ability to handle emergency medical equipment confidently.
• Adherence to specified dress code and ID card policy.
• Willingness to work duty hours as per schedule.
