About the role

The Head Cashier leads the billing and point‑of‑sale (POS) functions of a retail environment, ensuring a fast, accurate checkout experience for customers while maintaining strict financial controls. This role combines cash management, team supervision, and compliance oversight to support seamless store operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end billing and POS operations, guaranteeing accurate invoicing and smooth checkout.
• Oversee cash handling, daily reconciliation, and closing procedures.
• Supervise the cashier team, plan shifts, and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
• Handle refunds, exchanges, and billing escalations efficiently.
• Maintain precise documentation of invoices, payments, and related records.
• Ensure compliance with audit, finance, and standard operating procedure guidelines.
• Achieve 100% accuracy in billing and cash reconciliation.
• Minimize billing errors, transaction discrepancies, and customer wait times.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in retail billing or POS operations.
• Graduate degree – BCom preferred.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure during busy store periods.
• Leadership skills to manage and motivate a cashier team.
• Customer‑focused mindset with problem‑solving ability.
