Governanta Executiva

About the role

The Executive Housekeeper (Governanta Executiva) oversees all housekeeping operations within the hotel, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, guest service and cost efficiency. The role coordinates internal teams, external providers and manages budgets to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate general cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, linen and laundry services.
• Issue service orders for maintenance and oversee preventive maintenance schedules.
• Attend to guest requests personally or by phone, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Manage the work of supervisors, housekeepers and cleaning staff.
• Order uniforms, linens and table settings, and control related expenses.
• Monitor department costs and revenues against the approved budget.
• Test new products and equipment to improve service quality.
• Develop and administer staff schedules, vacations and shift rotations.
• Conduct inventory checks and manage lost‑and‑found items.
• Plan and implement production improvement techniques.
• Organize meetings, training sessions and continuous development programs for the team.
• Define priorities for periodic cleaning and preventive maintenance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing housekeeping operations in a hotel environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent organizational and budgeting skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and internal departments.
• Experience in training, coaching and performance evaluation of staff.
