Frontend Developer

About the role

Chumley is an early‑stage tech startup building tools for tradespeople. We are looking for a Frontend Developer to own our public website, chumley.com, from initial wireframes through to production. You will work across design, frontend, light backend and content management, seeing your work live within weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build chumley.com using React, TypeScript and Next.js.
• Create fast, accessible, responsive interfaces that work on mobile devices in a van and on desktop browsers.
• Own visual and interaction design in Figma and translate designs into code.
• Set up and maintain a headless CMS so non‑engineers can update content.
• Implement light backend features such as forms, API routes, integrations, analytics and deployment pipelines.
• Optimize page speed, Core Web Vitals, SEO fundamentals and conversion metrics.
• Collaborate directly with the founder to communicate Chumley’s value proposition.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience building production‑grade web frontends.
• Strong React and TypeScript expertise.
• Solid experience with Next.js, including routing, server‑side rendering and data fetching.
• Demonstrated visual design ability and proficiency with Figma.
• Comfort working in a small, fast‑moving remote startup and taking ownership from idea to deployment.
