Front Line Officer – Quality Control (Outsourcing) – Linen Fabric

About the role

The Front Line Officer – Quality Control ensures that outsourced linen fabric meets the company’s quality standards before it reaches production. Working from the Bhiwandi warehouse, you will conduct tests, identify defects, and coordinate with vendors to maintain consistent product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform testing and inspection of outsourced fabrics, identifying print defects (e.g., dagi, stains, shade mismatches, white spots) and embroidery issues (e.g., missing motifs, wrong designs, holes).
• Prepare and share detailed defect reports with relevant internal teams.
• Chase vendors for timely delivery and organize meetings to discuss root causes of defects and corrective actions.
• Train and follow up with vendors to drive continuous improvement.
• Verify that corrected material is dispatched, ensuring re‑testing before final release.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in fabric quality control, preferably in an outsourcing environment.
• Ability to assess hand‑feel variations caused by climate changes and provide actionable advice to production teams.
• Strong judgment in deciding whether to return material to the supplier or remediate it in‑plant, considering cost and time constraints.
• Attention to detail for dimensional stability, seam slippage, shade rubbing fastness, and related quality parameters.
