Financial Crime Agile Testing Team Lead

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Financial Crime Agile Testing Team Lead in Pune, India, within its Compliance business area. The role builds and evolves an agile testing capability from the ground up, shaping testing strategy, influencing senior stakeholders and applying a consultancy-style mindset to delivery, communication and continuous improvement. It is a high-visibility opportunity to help the bank manage financial crime risk and strengthen its control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to show the organisation complies with its legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.
• Identify and assess compliance risks by reviewing business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems.
• Investigate potential market abuse (insider dealing, unlawful disclosure, market manipulation, anti-competitive conduct) and money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime.
• Conduct investigations of compliance risk events or breaches and oversee corrective and preventative actions.
• Implement compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and international standards.
• Collaborate with 1LOD, other compliance teams, legal and risk management functions.

Required profile

• Experience in Financial Crime Assurance or Control Testing within a second-line function, including investigative processes and control or hypothesis testing.
• Strong risk and control mindset, able to identify, assess, test and challenge compliance and financial crime risks.
• Line management and project management experience, including leading teams, managing day-to-day delivery and developing colleagues.
• Desirable: stakeholder engagement with senior stakeholders across Compliance, 1LOD and risk management; advisory or consulting experience; use of case management systems such as Salesforce.
