Finance Controller – Deep Tech Startup

About the role

We are a fast‑growing, venture‑backed deep‑tech startup looking for a Finance Controller to build and lead the finance function from the ground up. You will partner closely with the founders on financial strategy, capital planning, and scaling operations, with the potential to evolve into a CFO role as the company expands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, cash‑flow management and runway scenario analysis.
• Design and manage cost structures for hardware manufacturing, including BOM, inventory, WIP and working capital.
• Prepare investor reports, MIS dashboards and support fundraising and due‑diligence processes.
• Develop unit economics for product sales and service‑based models such as RaaS.
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, FEMA, RBI regulations and oversee audits and governance.
• Set up finance processes, internal controls and implement ERP/accounting systems.

Required profile

• CA qualification preferred; MBA Finance or CFA a plus.
• 4+ years of finance experience, preferably with exposure to startups.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and working‑capital management in manufacturing or hardware.
• Hands‑on experience with audits, due‑diligence and investor reporting.
• Familiarity with Indian financial regulations and compliance.
