Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Analysis Engineer

About the role

Airbus India is seeking a skilled Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) Analysis Engineer to join its structural analysis team in Bangalore. You will be responsible for evaluating aircraft structural durability, crack propagation, and fatigue performance using advanced analytical tools and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fatigue and damage tolerance analyses on metallic and composite aircraft structures.
• Generate load spectra, calculate sequential stresses, and apply rainflow counting and Miner’s rule.
• Determine stress concentration factors (Kt) using Peterson’s method, DFEM, or ISAMI modules.
• Conduct static, buckling, and bolted‑joint assessments, including hand calculations and GFEM load redistribution.
• Interpret engineering drawings to extract fastener dimensions, specifications, and surface treatments for accurate fatigue calculations.
• Prepare and validate technical reports, PDR/CDR documentation, and certification or repair concessions.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in aircraft fatigue, damage tolerance, or crack propagation analysis.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft loads, spectrum generation, and mission profile analysis.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and fastener details.
• Ability to produce clear technical reports and collaborate with certification teams.
