Executive Procurement Officer

About the role

Sun Pharma is looking for an Executive Procurement Officer to join its Global Procurement (GCC) team in Mumbai. The position is designed for early‑career professionals who will manage procurement and supply activities for engineering, QC and R&D lab items, initially supporting North America requestors. You will work under supervision while gaining exposure to multi‑geography procurement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders from PRs in SAP and EZ Portal, ensuring accurate data entry.
• Maintain procurement master data in the SAP system.
• Negotiate with suppliers and support contract closures under guidance.
• Drive cost‑reduction initiatives by presenting alternatives and implementing savings programs.
• Coordinate with Engineering, R&D, QC, and administrative departments to fulfil material requirements.
• Participate in procurement strategy discussions and cross‑functional processes.
• Continuously update knowledge of pharmaceutical sourcing trends and supplier markets.
• Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Required profile

• Early‑career professional with at least 5 years of procurement experience.
• Experience handling engineering items and QC/R&D lab purchase orders.
• Ability to work with North America requestors across time zones.
• Strong analytical mindset and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• SAP procurement module.
• EZ Portal or similar e‑procurement tools.
