Executive Plant Engineer (Shift Management)

About the role

The Executive Plant Engineer will lead the General shift in the Plant Engineering department, allocating work to operators, supporting technicians, and ensuring smooth execution of maintenance activities across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritise and assign jobs for the General shift, coordinating with operators and shift engineers.
• Guide technicians on day‑to‑day technical issues and arrange required spares for breakdowns.
• Maintain spares inventory and ensure timely procurement of consumables.
• Conduct inspections of engineering stores and inward material.
• Manage breakdown notifications, allocate work to contract workers, and oversee LOTO procedures.
• Coordinate with service contractors under Annual Maintenance Contracts for machinery and equipment.
• Prepare and release monthly review reports, breakdown analysis, and performance reviews.
• Plan and execute weekly, holiday, and annual shutdown activities, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of field instruments.
• Proven ability to prepare and follow maintenance schedules for critical process control systems (DCS, PLC, field instruments).
• Strong spares management and budgeting skills.
• Effective people management – directing teams, handling grievances and fostering performance‑oriented culture.
• Vendor management experience for instrumentation procurement and services.
