Executive – Assurance Audit (Statutory) – Chennai

About the role

EY is seeking a motivated Executive to join its Assurance practice in Chennai. The role focuses on statutory audit engagements for financial services clients, providing hands‑on experience in operational, financial and systems audits.

Key responsibilities

• Perform operational, financial, process and systems audits in line with the audit plan.
• Identify accounting and auditing issues, discuss solutions with the audit in‑charge and document findings.
• Execute substantive testing of audit items and maintain detailed work papers.
• Prepare statutory books of accounts, reconcile receivables and payables, and assist in finalising accounts.
• Support senior staff in reviewing financial statements and drafting audit reports, management comment letters and representation letters.
• Present audit findings and recommendations clearly to management.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 0‑3 years of experience in statutory audit.
• Strong knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines and work in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive, result‑oriented attitude.
• Team player who can collaborate with senior executives and clients.
