Benchmarking Analyst - Realized Prices

About the role

Chevron ENGINE, the Engineering and Innovation Excellence Center in Bengaluru, is looking for a Benchmarking Analyst focused on realized prices to join its Innovation team. The role compiles, validates and analyzes benchmarking data across the downstream, midstream and chemicals businesses to support competitive goal setting and realistic target setting. Work hours are standard 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and may change with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, validate and normalize competitor realized price data from internal and external sources.
• Benchmark Chevron's crude, gas, LNG, NGL and product realizations against peers.
• Analyze drivers of price premiums and discounts, including quality, geography, contracts and market exposure.
• Quantify performance gaps and value opportunities versus top-performing peers.
• Develop competitive targets and support business performance improvement efforts.
• Deliver executive-ready insights, reports and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or a related field.
• 10+ years of industry experience as a service provider, within a refinery or through full-service consulting in the downstream, midstream and/or chemicals sector.
• Experience working with public company data (e.g. SEC reports) to develop insights.
• Proven ability to partner with diverse stakeholders and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data analysis, benchmarking or business performance measurement.
• Advanced fluency in financial analysis, with experience in product economics and financial modelling.
• Familiarity with third-party data sources such as S&P Global, Opis, Solomon or equivalent providers.
• Data management, quality control and variance analysis.
