About the role
The City of Cambridge is hiring an entry‑level Sewer Maintenance Worker I to learn sewer and storm‑drain maintenance under close supervision. You will work on inspecting, repairing, and servicing municipal sewer infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect and repair mechanical equipment used in sewer systems.
- Assist with the installation and servicing of sewer lines.
- Clear backups and maintain lift stations, including mowing and operating a crane truck to pull pumps.
- Repair or raise damaged or buried manholes.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- Approximately six months of mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license acceptable to the City’s insurer.
