Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

A Senior Structural Engineer is sought in Mumbai, typically as a Project Engineer on projects of various sizes, and possibly as a Design Engineer on major or more complex projects. The role covers managing design and construction stages, supervising a small team of engineers and technicians, and delivering work to an agreed fee with a Project Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver projects to agreed deadlines and fees, ensuring task profitability and quality
• Prepare and present client and project proposals, and negotiate fee proposals
• Construct project teams from internal and external resources and procure project resources
• Plan projects and aim for 95% chargeable time
• Review and comment on deliverables from engineers and technicians at key stages
• Take responsibility for Quality Management (QA) for the team
• Follow 9E QHSE policies, coordinate QHSE procedures, comply with local regulations, report incidents and obtain site inductions

Required profile

• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in engineering consultancy firms
• Qualified graduate in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master's degree or Chartered Engineering is an added advantage
• Ability to supervise a small team of engineers and technicians
• Team working, influencing and relationship-building competencies
