Engineering Manager – Passkeys

About the role

As Bitwarden builds its India Engineering Center of Excellence, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Passkeys team. You will drive the development of password‑less authentication technologies, including WebAuthn and FIDO2, across browser, desktop and mobile platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, develop and retain a high‑performing engineering team while setting measurable goals.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies, manage the sprint‑ready backlog, and ensure clear definitions, designs and technical breakdowns for all work items.
• Own escalation and triage for production issues, community‑reported bugs, and enterprise customer escalations related to autofill and desktop integrations.
• Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, design, product, architecture and other engineering groups, aligning priorities and synthesising requests.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of experience leading engineering teams or complex cross‑functional product initiatives.
• Proven track record delivering in globally distributed or Center of Excellence environments, managing teams across time zones.
• Strong understanding of Agile development, modern engineering practices and product delivery lifecycles.
• Coaching‑oriented leadership style with a focus on developing high‑performing teams.

Required skills

• CI/CD pipelines and automation/release engineering.
• WebAuthn and FIDO2 credential creation and assertion.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and similar project‑management tools.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code).
