Embedded C++ & PLC Automation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Embedded C++ & PLC Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated integration test cases for ctrlX PLC IO modules, validate hardware‑software integration, and support system‑level testing across global sites.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze customer Functional Requirements and Technical Design Packages to define integration test scope and strategy.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated integration test cases in Embedded C++ for ctrlX PLC IO modules and accessories.
• Validate hardware‑software integration and industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT CoE, EtherCAT EoE, CAN, M‑Bus, RS232/RS485.
• Perform integration and system‑level testing on remote hardware test setups located in Germany.
• Debug and troubleshoot integration issues on target hardware in collaboration with firmware, hardware, and Germany‑based engineering teams.
• Develop and enhance reusable C++ test frameworks, utilities, and automation to improve test efficiency and coverage.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5‑10 years of relevant experience in embedded C++ and PLC automation.
• Strong programming experience in Embedded C++ (C++17) and hands‑on work with PLC IO modules and accessories.
• Good understanding of object‑oriented programming and Linux‑based embedded systems.
• Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot software on target hardware.
• Experience collaborating with global engineering teams and maintaining test documentation.
