Electrician Technician – Maintenance (Plant)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Electrician Technician – Maintenance to join our glove manufacturing plant in Nagercoil. The role is full-time, on-site and focuses on ensuring the reliability of all electrical equipment that supports our production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems, control panels and distribution networks used in the manufacturing line.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery such as motors, compressors, pumps and conveyors.
• Monitor equipment performance, support production teams during breakdowns and coordinate maintenance schedules with supervisors.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, spare-part usage and compliance with safety procedures.
• Contribute to energy-efficiency projects and continuous-improvement initiatives to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Diploma/ITI in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics or a related field.
• Relevant industrial maintenance experience, preferably in rubber, medical-device or process industries.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends or holidays as required by plant operations.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, control panels, wiring and power distribution.
• Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance of manufacturing equipment and utilities (compressors, pumps, conveyors).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures and use of electrical testing instruments.
• Basic understanding of PLC-based control systems (or willingness to learn).
