Elastomer Technician

About the role

Weir is seeking an Elastomer Technician to join its production team in Bangalore. You will work on the shop floor, applying elastomer lining and hose‑building techniques to support sustainable mining equipment manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform elastomer lining and hose‑building processes, including vulcanised neoprene, natural rubber, cold‑bonded Linatex, and autoclave operations.
• Prepare and inspect surfaces, operate and maintain manual rollers, stitchers, and bladders.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while maintaining production schedules.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and adapt to a rotating three‑shift schedule.
• Ensure minimal travel, working primarily on‑site in Bangalore.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Fitter, or a related trade.
• 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in elastomer lining, rubber, hose, or similar industrial manufacturing.
• Knowledge of elastomer materials, lining techniques, and ability to read technical drawings.
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and a strong safety commitment.
• Willingness to work rotating three‑shift schedules.
