Design Engineer – Pump Upgrades & Aftermarket Units

About the role

Flowserve is seeking a Design Engineer to lead design and engineering activities for pump upgrades, parts orders, and aftermarket units (AMU) within its FPD S&S business. The role involves delivering high‑quality drawings, analysis reports, and documentation while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Gather all relevant information for each assignment, review inputs, define scope, and deliver designs that meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Apply established engineering standards and procedures to produce consistent, reliable product designs.
• Check each design for compliance with specifications, safety, manufacturability, and ease of assembly, performing self‑checks before release.
• Produce clear and complete drawings, analysis reports, documentation, and part lists, ensuring on‑time delivery and quality.
• Maintain documentation control, preserve records, and file computer files according to company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of design experience in pumps or rotating equipment (or 5 years of engineering design experience).
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and ANSI Y 14.5 drafting standards.
• Hands‑on experience with pump assembly, repair, or servicing is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D design using SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and ANSI Y 14.5 standards.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, and DIN design standards and material specifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) on Windows platforms.
