Duty Manager – Airport Operations Control Center

About the role

The Duty Manager – AOCC is responsible for supervising shift‑based airport operations, ensuring efficient resource utilization and maintaining On‑Time Performance (OTP) across all airport functions. The role requires rapid decision‑making to address real‑time challenges and to keep airport activities running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily shift operations, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.
• Monitor flight schedules, OTP, delays and cancellations, taking corrective actions to minimise disruptions.
• Notify airlines, ground handlers and operators of adverse weather and implement Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) when required.
• Coordinate with Air Traffic Control (ATC) for ETA updates, parking stand assignments, runway usage changes and aircraft towing.
• Manage allocation of airport resources such as parking stands, gates, check‑in counters and baggage reclaim belts to maximise asset utilisation.
• Support emergency response plans and manage operations during crises (weather events, security incidents, equipment failures).
• Lead and support shift team members, providing direction and ensuring performance aligns with operational goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising shift‑based airport operations.
• Ability to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of airport operational standards, OTP metrics and emergency procedures.
• Excellent coordination skills with airlines, ground handlers and ATC.
