Direct Tax Litigation & Corporate Tax Specialist

About the role

Capgemini is seeking an experienced Direct Tax professional to lead litigation and corporate tax matters for its Indian entities. The role involves coordinating appeals, conducting research, and ensuring compliance with the latest tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with external consultants and legal counsel for appeals at CIT (A), DRP, ITAT, High Court and Supreme Court.
• Conduct detailed research and analysis on ongoing and past tax litigations.
• Provide real-time updates on direct tax laws, circulars, notifications, case laws and related articles to internal teams and management.
• Prepare and file appeals, written submissions and paper books with revenue authorities within defined timelines.
• Prepare, file and avail orders, rectifications and effect-giving orders with the revenue department.
• Track all litigation matters across all India entities.

Required profile

• 12-18 years of experience in direct tax and transfer pricing.
• Strong knowledge of the New Income Tax Act, rules and case law.
• Excellent writing, presentation and communication abilities.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to work independently with consultants, lawyers and finance teams.
• Leadership experience managing a small team (up to 2 members).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems.
