DevOps Manager

About the role

SmartDocs is building a fast, secure, and reliable AI‑powered procurement platform. We need a hands‑on DevOps Manager to own our Azure environment, lead a small SRE team, and ensure production stability for enterprise clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a 4‑6 person DevOps/SRE team, design and participate in the on‑call rotation.
• Own the end‑to‑end Azure environment – networking, identity, monitoring, cost, and security.
• Define and maintain tooling for infrastructure as code (Terraform or Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines supporting trunk‑based development across US and India teams.
• Maintain uptime and SLA compliance, run incident response, and write honest post‑mortems.
• Operate and tune MongoDB at production scale, including regular backup and restore testing.
• Manage infrastructure security – patching, secrets, certificates, vulnerability management, and network segmentation.
• Provide technical evidence for SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and ISO 27001 audits.
• Design, test, and validate disaster‑recovery plans with defined RTO/RPO.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of DevOps/SRE or infrastructure experience, with at least 3 years leading engineers.
• Deep, current experience with Microsoft Azure, especially networking, identity, monitoring, and cost management.
• Proven track record of handling real‑time incidents and on‑call duties.
• Strong ownership mindset – you build, maintain, and are accountable for the systems you create.
