DevOps Engineer

About the role

Join Barclays as a DevOps Engineer and help shape the evolution of the bank’s digital landscape. You will work with cutting‑edge technologies to deliver high‑quality software solutions that enhance customer experiences and support business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve software components using Java, Spring and related technologies.
• Ensure code is scalable, maintainable and performance‑optimized.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to define requirements and integration strategies.
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools and automated testing frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews, promote best practices and share knowledge across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and champion an automation‑first mindset.

Required profile

• B.Tech or equivalent degree.
• Experience as a Full‑Stack developer with a strong focus on DevOps practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships.

Required skills

• Java 8+ and Spring Framework.
• Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL.
• Unix/Linux environment.
• Version control: Git, Bitbucket, GitLab.
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, SonarQube, Veracode.
• Monitoring and observability: AppDynamics, Kibana.
• API testing: Postman, SOAP UI.
• IDE: IntelliJ IDEA.
• Unit testing, mutation testing, code reviews and documentation.
