Senior Snowflake Data & AI Platform Engineer

About the role

As part of Avaloq’s Data Platform domain, you will help financial institutions adopt, govern, and analyse data from Avaloq products across complex enterprise ecosystems. The mission is to build trusted, analytics‑ and AI‑ready data platforms that turn core banking data into reusable data products for reporting, automation and next‑generation AI use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve Snowflake‑native analytical data products, building reusable, governed semantic datasets for positions, transactions, cash, performance, P&L and risk.
• Leverage Snowflake features such as Dynamic Tables, Streams, Tasks, Secure Views, RBAC, data sharing and cost‑optimisation strategies.
• Translate Avaloq Core Platform structures into business‑meaningful analytical models using dimensional and medallion architectures.
• Implement Snowflake‑native governance frameworks (masking policies, row‑level security, object tagging, access policies) and embed data quality and trust by design.
• Prepare the platform for enterprise‑grade AI by enabling Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark ML, vector search and document intelligence, and support analytics, intelligence and automation scenarios across banking domains.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience building Snowflake‑based data platforms with a production track record.
• Proficiency in dbt (or similar analytics‑engineering tools), advanced SQL and Python.
• Deep understanding of analytical data modelling, data semantics and integration of enterprise sources such as Oracle and Kafka.
• Cloud‑native mindset with experience in CI/CD, automation and fluent English communication.
• Experience in fintech or financial services is a strong advantage.
