DevOps Engineer – Automation, CI/CD, L10n

About the role

As a Software Engineer focused on Localization Automation and CI/CD, you will ensure phone, PC, and tablet applications are globally ready. You will own the day‑to‑day localization tooling, create automation wrappers, and keep pipelines running smoothly for a leading multinational telecommunications client.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and process UI strings and resource files for localization across multiple platforms.
• Own and operate localization tooling, writing thin Python or Shell wrappers as needed.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) that drive end‑to‑end localization workflows.
• Author and maintain jobs for string extraction, validation, builds, and delivery.
• Troubleshoot routine failures in CI, client tooling, APIs, and data layers, escalating only major issues.
• Collaborate with linguists, PMs, and platform engineers to integrate localized assets.
• Validate localized builds, layouts, and device displays across languages.
• Use Git from the command line daily for branching, merging, and conflict resolution.
• Apply AI‑assisted tools to accelerate scripting, debugging, and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3–6+ years of experience in localization engineering or software development (mid‑level from 3 years, senior from 5+).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work across multiple teams and systems.

Required skills

• Python scripting (thin wrappers around CLIs).
• Shell/Bash/PowerShell scripting.
• Git command‑line proficiency (branching, merging, rebasing, conflict resolution).
• GitHub and/or Gerrit workflow experience.
• Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions pipeline management.
• Knowledge of localization file formats: XML, JSON, CSV, YAML.
• Familiarity with Windows, Ubuntu, Android, and iOS build environments.
• Use of AI coding assistants and agent‑based workflows.
