Design Manager – Architecture (Pharma/Life Sciences)

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Design Manager – Architecture to lead the creation of pharmaceutical and life‑science facility concepts. You will work directly with clients to translate their needs into architectural layouts, master plans and design narratives that meet cGMP and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with clients to capture requirements and obtain buy‑in for design options.
• Develop architectural layout options, site master plans, and detailed room data sheets.
• Prepare architectural narratives, flow diagrams, and schedules aligned with cGMP guidelines.
• Support permitting, tender documentation and specification preparation.
• Ensure compliance with client standards, engineering practices and relevant statutory regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture recognized by the Council of Architecture.
• Licensed Architect (AIA) with at least 16 years of experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of pharmaceutical and life‑science facility design, including API, sterile products, OSD, bio‑pharma and gene‑therapy labs.
• Familiarity with Indian regulatory bodies (NBC, MIDC, KSIIC, HSIIDC) and major building codes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Suite and InDesign.
• Strong understanding of building codes and specifications.
• Experience implementing cGMP requirements in architectural design.
