Design for Environment - Regulatory Product/ Material Compliance Engineer

About the role

Join Bosch Global Software Technologies, the technology powerhouse of Bosch in India, as a Design for Environment (DfE) and Regulatory Product/Material Compliance Engineer. You will ensure that automotive products meet global substance regulations while supporting sustainable material selection from concept to launch.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and validate IMDS submissions and supplier material declarations, guaranteeing data accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct material and substance compliance assessments against IMDS, ELV, GADSL, REACH, RoHS, SCIP, PFAS, SVHC, Proposition 65, Conflict Minerals and emerging regulations.
• Perform early‑stage DfE and compliance assessments throughout innovation gates to product launch.
• Identify material, substance and regulatory risks and provide actionable inputs for material selection and design decisions.
• Review BOMs, material compositions, technical documentation and supplier evidence to establish product compliance status.
• Define and communicate DfE and material compliance requirements to engineering, procurement, product management and suppliers.

Required profile

• 7 + years of experience in material compliance, preferably within the automotive sector.
• Strong expertise in IMDS, ELV, GADSL, REACH, RoHS, SCIP and related global substance regulations.
• Proven ability to coordinate with suppliers and customers, assess risks and integrate compliance requirements into product development.
• Experience developing Power BI, Excel/VBA and automation solutions for compliance tracking and reporting.
