Design Engineer – Product Care & Design-to-Order

About the role

As a Design Engineer in Siemens Smart Infrastructure, you will create and release 3D models for sheet‑metal, metal‑casting and plastic‑molding parts. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and detailed drawings using UG NX, Creo, AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Coordinate with suppliers during component release and compile construction documents (BOM, SAP entries, drawings).
• Manage change requests from the parent organization and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Support internal and external ISO audits, including documentation and process compliance.
• Conduct FMEA analyses and product type testing for specific customer orders.
• Load and release production BOMs, and design orders for manufacturing.
• Lead and execute continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 + years of experience in a similar design engineering role.
• Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical engineering.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong teamwork attitude, flexibility and resilience.

Required skills

• UG NX, Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks (CAD tools).
• Understanding of sheet‑metal, casting and plastic‑molding manufacturing processes.
• SAP for BOM and documentation management.
• ISO audit handling.
• FMEA analysis.
• MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
